Heart of Korrem
Tabletop Game, Strategy, Fantasy
I've always believed that the best projects are born from a place of passion. Heart of Korrem was a massive undertaking that allowed me to return to a world I’d imagined in my youth. What began as a high school adventure game with friends became my primary creative focus during the pandemic, evolving into a fully realized tabletop strategy game with a sprawling, high-fantasy setting. This project was a testament to the power of personal vision and a comprehensive application of my game design skills.
This epic world is built around six warring nations vying for dominance. Players can choose their path to victory, whether through brute military force, strategic resource management, or cunning subversion. The game includes hundreds of custom cards along with custom hex tiles, various game tokens, and a detailed rulebook.
A standout element of this project was the 3D modeling for the game's structures. I used Blender to design custom walls, towers, and cities that were then 3D printed, giving the game a unique tactile feel and stunning visual presence. This project was a full-circle creative journey, from initial concept art and character design to game token and card design, and even managing the prototyping process through platforms like The Game Crafter and Tabletopia. The scope of this project, from visual storytelling to asset creation and project management, demonstrates my ability to tackle every aspect of a game's development.

Headless
Boardgame, Horror, Comedy, Social Deduction
As a lifelong fan of social deduction games, I was thrilled to take on this project. Headless is a strategic hidden-role board game for 4 to 8 players, taking the classic mechanics of games like Mafia and Secret Hitler and setting them in the eerie, comedic world of Sleepy Hollow. This project was a chance to blend suspense and strategy with a touch of dark humor, all while building a complete game from the ground up.
The game challenges players to navigate the shifting loyalties of a classic American legend. Players are secretly assigned one of three roles: the Humble Townsfolk, the nefarious Headless Horseman, or the cunning Witch. Each role has a unique objective, creating a web of alliances and betrayals that changes with every move. I designed and illustrated every component of this game, from the town map gameboard that evolves from October 26th to All Saints' Day, to the unique cards and item pieces.

Inequality-Opoly
Educational Game, Social Justice, DEI
I had the privilege of collaborating with Clemons Education Inc. on a powerful and timely project that was even featured in Forbes. Inequality-Opoly: The Game of Structural Racism and Sexism in America is a fun game for a serious topic. It’s an educational tool designed to foster genuine and informed conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion. My role was to visually translate the game's complex concepts into an engaging and accessible experience for players.
My work focused exclusively on the board and card art, bringing the game's core themes to life. The illustrations were crafted to be clear, fun, and accessible, helping players understand how systemic structures impact individual outcomes in a tangible way. The board art was designed in a comic style to guide players through the game's journey, reflecting the realities of racial and gender pay gaps, housing discrimination, and other societal barriers. I was able to use my illustration skills for a purpose-driven mission, transforming a historically transactional gaming experience into a compelling, hands-on learning experience for students and educators alike.

Development Build 87
Boardgame, Rule-making, Party Game
Have you ever played a game and thought, "I could make this better"? Development Build 87 (DB87) takes that idea and makes it the core mechanic. This unique party game is a social experiment on a tabletop, where players aren't just following rules—they're creating them. My work on DB87 was an exhilarating exercise in game design, translating a highly dynamic, player-driven concept into a physical board game complete with a board, pieces, and a rulesheet.
DB87 begins with a simple objective: be the first to score 4 points. Players move their colored pieces across a hex-based board, aiming to reach the opposite side. But the game quickly devolves into delightful chaos. Whenever a player scores a point, they get to propose a new rule—anything they can imagine. The catch? Voting "Nay" on a proposal sends one of your pieces back to start, heavily incentivizing collaboration and negotiation. This creates a game that's limited only by the players' imaginations. As the game progresses, the rules become more and more capricious, with players introducing wild new mechanics, pieces, and player-specific constraints. The core of DB87 is its social strategy and negotiation, making it a highly replayable and memorable experience that is truly a one-of-a-kind.
